Hola! I am Kia-Fiara Melendez! I am a Black Bilingual Dominican Woman who has many different roles yet the commonality of them all is I am a HELPER. I love the community I serve, I love my people and I want to see us all thriving not just physically but mentally. You have been thinking about making some intentional changes in your life in an effort to show up as your best self.
As a parent myself - I know first hand there is a lot to juggle and we often feel frustrated and overwhelmed by it all.
I do this work because I love the community in which I was raised and I knew I wanted to impact the lives of families and children I worked with. I love us! The struggle for me was the oppressive systems I was a part of and I knew I could still be a ride or die for my people and my community in a different way. Historically therapy has not been a safe space for people who look like us.
