Description
Hi – I’m Kesta and I am passionate about supporting people on their healing and growth journey. I’ve had the pleasure of counseling clients from all walks of life and cultural background, who found my approach to be personable, welcoming, proactive, versatile, and collaborative. Some of my clinical specialties include anxiety, depression, relationship/family issues, imposter syndrome, life transition, trauma, stress management, and career counseling.
I provide counseling services from a holistic and multicultural lens to adults, families, couples and children seeking purpose and meaning in all aspects of their lives.
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all therapeutic methodology. Therapy is a partnership where the client and the counselor collaborate to identify the root cause of the problems, the factors sustaining them, and the most effective strategies or coping skills to better manage symptoms through activities and exercises. Therefore, by working with me, we will collaborate to develop a personalized plan based on your needs to help you achieve your goals. Some of the techniques I draw upon are rooted in person-centered theory, mindfulness-based approaches, cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychoanalytic, and solutions-focused therapy.
Overall, my goal is to help you regain control of your life, be restored, and be empowered to reach your fullest potential by the time treatment is completed.
I hold a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Johns Hopkins University. I am also licensed to practice psychotherapy in Maryland as a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor.
I’m excited to meet you and embark on this healing and restorative journey together!
