As a licensed psychotherapist, yoga instructor, and meditation guide, I approach my work with patients with a focus on mindfulness, compassion, authenticity and support. I prioritize creating an environment where people can be comfortable, vulnerable and safe. I believe that effecting change in mental health requires an appreciation of a person holistically, including their physical, social and spiritual well-being. I work collaboratively with my patients to empower them to identify and achieve the acceptance or changes that enrich their self-image, experiences and relationships.
I draw from a combination of evidenced-based therapeutic approaches such as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.
I have a special passion for helping adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, eating disorders, mood disorders, trauma, or issues regarding self-esteem, body image, or identity development.
I am an advocate for inclusivity, equality, honoring multiculturalism, and an avid ally of the LGBTQIA population.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCASA), and 200hr Certified Yoga Instructor.
I have a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University where I was a member of Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society
I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from North Carolina Central University.
