Young adults who have experiences with parental neglect/abandonment, pressure around education/career and success as well as those who have difficulty concentrating, experience frequent sadness, uncontrollable worry/negative thoughts, irritability, difficulty adjusting to expected and unexpected change, longstanding shame, loss of interest or pleasure in activities, frequent discontent, life transitions, and stress work with me to gain insight and learn long term coping strategies to manage or resolve the impact of these experiences and symptoms.Using a collaborative process, we will build a flexible and dynamic plan for you.
Clients learn mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, self soothing, structure and organization, interpersonal/communication effectiveness and more. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, trauma informed care and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help you gain insight and skills.
With calmness, warmth, humor and acceptance, I help individuals find their strengths, understand their challenges with compassion and improve behaviors, mood, cognition, school, career, relationships and daily activities. I also prioritize decolonizing mental healthcare by incorporating culturally-affirming practices that honor each clients identity. We will build a plan with you, for you.
