I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) at Ashe Counseling and Coaching Services and I serve as a school based counselor with the Chicago Public Schools. I have been described as supportive, engaging and empathetic. My clients experience me as attentive, relatable, trustworthy, and invested in their journey towards wholeness. I am fiercely committed to cultivating safe spaces for my clients to heal, grow and overcome challenges that prevent them from leading fulfilling lives.
As a therapist, I believe that clients are inherently equipped with the ability to live the life they desire. It is my goal to collaborate with clients to ensure that they feel empowered to do the work and close the gap between their current reality and how they ultimately would like to live.
I use an eclectic approach to therapy to meet clients right where they are with a mix of cognitive behavioral therapy, strengths based and mindfulness techniques. Our sessions together can provide support for coping with stress, addressing mental symptoms such as depression and anxiety, and building skills to develop self esteem and foster healthy relationships.
I am from the Hyde Park neighborhood in Chicago. I attended Kenwood Academy and my undergraduate degree was completed at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. I completed Master’s Degree work at Chicago State University and Concordia University where I earned my Master’s Degree in School Counseling. I developed my roots as a practitioner working closely with a diverse population that includes children, teens and individuals ages 5- 21 through the Chicago Public School system where I have worked for 22 years and counting.
When I am not working, you can find me on the patio, eating grilled seafood while listening to jazz, r&b and gospel music with family and friends.
