I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida and an avid dog lover! I hold a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling, and have over 10 years of experience working with children, teens, and adults. Starting in the Department of Juvenile Justice, my belief in rehabilitation has allowed me to gain experience in several populations , ranging from incarcerated clients to clients involved in the child welfare system.
I truly believe in positive self-talk and a healthy self-esteem, and everyday I challenge myself to practice what I preach! My goal in counseling is to be a guide, in this sometimes confusing world, for men and women struggling with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, or a history of trauma/domestic violence. As a survivor of Domestic Violence, I know firsthand, the effects that trauma can have on our minds, bodies, and overall self-esteem, and that is why my approach to counseling is based on what my clients need versus what a textbook says. I hope to lead my clients to a level of understanding of their mental health concerns, and in turn guide them to clarity and resolution. Life is serious enough, so humor is often what I use to help my clients become comfortable with the therapeutic process! Please feel free to contact me to see if my approach to therapy can help you make your first steps to a better YOU!
