Growing up, mental health didn’t exist in my family or community. Now that I am wiser, I know it was always there but overlooked, especially in the minority communities. I am here to assist you not only get through those trying times in life that we all go through but also to let you know that you are not alone in this journey. I will challenge you to become the best version of yourself by providing you with the tools and confidence to face yourself, others and have those difficult conversations.

My name is Kamitra and I completed my Bachelors in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Behavioral Analysis. I then went on to complete my Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health and Substance Use. Not only am I a Licensed Master Social Worker but I am also a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern, meaning I work with both mental health and substance use clients.

I enjoy working with male and female minorities 16 years of age and up with specific issues such as stress, anxiety, relationships, parenting, depression, addictions, life changes, trauma, anger, family conflicts, self esteem, and more. I assist clients treat those unwanted feelings and emotions that cause trouble. I use a variety of treatment modalities to help you conquer your goals such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Patient Centered and Solution Focused Therapy. The goal is to have you leave every session one step closer in your wellness journey.
