"Hi there, I'm Kamaria.
Do you feel the weight on anxiety and low self-confidence plaguing your relationships and everyday life? Are you sinking in relationship issues because you're overwhelmed as a new mom or parent?
I am a BIPOC mental health/psychotherapist, who enjoys helping empower women to find themselves in every transition life may bring. Together, we can identify what's not working and get you back to balance.
I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and women's issues. I have worked in the field of advocacy and mental health since 2006, at both the residential and outpatient levels. I have obtained a certification in Behavior Intervention Trauma Informed Care and my clinical experience is in Mindfulness and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
I'm licensed to provide counseling services to all of Texas. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English at Texas State University and then completed a Master’s degree in Social Work at University of Texas at San Antonio, followed by an additional Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis on Applied Behavior Science from Sam Houston State University.
My approach to therapy is warm, interactive, and accepting. I understand how hard it is to take the first step, and I bring that understanding and comfort into my sessions. Whether you're dealing with overwhelm, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together!
If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
