I am commonly called Ms. N. for those who cannot pronounce my last name, Nyirenda. I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) in the state of NC.
I have been licensed for over eleven years but have provided counseling (without licensure, forever).
I love to include Biblical principals in my counseling approaches since man is not only physical and emotional but also spiritual.
My go to counseling approaches are; Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I have recently published a digital resources to help those dealing with transient depression and anxiety called Bible Based Cognitive Behavior Therapy (BB-CBT).
In my practice I have worked with individuals from various backgrounds including refugees, asylees, survivors of domestic violence, those going through the grieving process and individuals with various mental health diagnosis such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Schizophrenia and others.
I also provide counseling in the areas of anger management, depression, anxiety, fear (phobias), social skills, developing self confidence and others.
I love to see the transformation that occurs when someone decides to engage in dealing with the issues that has plagued their lives.
