Description
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who attended the University of Mount Olive in North Carolina and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Psychology. I graduated from Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois, with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I have 4 years of experience working as a therapist in community mental health setting. I have worked with adults, providing substance abuse treatment, mental health treatment, parenting groups, anger management groups, and domestic violence groups. I have worked with adolescents as a school-based counselor to address substance abuse and mental health needs.
I am open to see adolescents and adults. My theoretical orientations is mainly Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and some Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). I also believe that as a therapist, possessing multicultural awareness and competency in one's practice is an important key factor to change and in helping clients from diverse backgrounds to feel welcome and supported, and to thrive in life. I also believe that everyone has the power to change and deserves help to live a better life, a life worth living.
