(Not accepting new clients. Only accepting clients for a trauma support group for women. See flyer below)

Hi! I'm Joy, an LCSW licensed in CT, MD, and NY. My private practice aims to serve adult women who identify as Black, African American, People of Color, and African immigrants. These individuals have endured multiple stressors, life changes, trauma, depression, and anxiety. They may be wondering if therapy is right for them or if it can help them get better. If you reside in any of these three states and you have considered some or all of the above then we may be a good fit.

As a generalist-eclectic practitioner, cultural humility and trauma-informed care permeate all I do. My toolbox includes evidence-based techniques like Problem-Solving Treatment, Behavioral Activation, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I work with individuals, couples, premarital counseling, supervision for new social work grads, and consulting.

Purpose In My Pain (P.I.M.P.) is a movement targeting healing from
trauma for black women. If you've had therapy
in the past or tried self-help and other healing
practices but feel something is missing, this
group is for you. Welcome to my Tribe! By the
way, I'm Joy, and I'm a trauma therapist 🙂
