Jomani Drayton | LMSW, LGSW

Jomani Drayton is a Licensed Social worker based in Washington, DC, and Maryland. Many of her clients have found great success in their careers or academically. However, many struggle to feel connected in their relationships, at peace with their daily lives, emotional pain from past trauma, or symptoms of anxiety or depression that may impact their daily lives. Jomani treats old wounds with support, creativity, curiosity, and compassion.

Jomani's approach is based on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, both of which are evidence-based treatments that help clients understand how their ideas, feelings, and actions are linked so that they may begin to make focused adjustments. She assists clients in comprehending their bodily reactions to external pressures and begins to problem-solve strategies to introduce periods of calm, to choose to respond rather than react in the face of change. Jomani has several years of expertise providing therapy to clients (adults and children) who are dealing with complex trauma, substance use, poor psychological health, and dysregulating behaviors. She also offers Grief and Loss Therapy and Couples Therapy.

Jomani finds solace in creating a welcoming, comfortable, and nonjudgmental atmosphere that develops a powerful therapeutic connection and gives you the opportunity to face experiences that are influencing your personal journey and acquire skills, tactics, and perspectives in dealing with them. Unhealed trauma, family challenges, grief, life transitions, changes in relationships with others, domestic violence (past and current), and mental health are all examples of situations that may have an impact on your journey.

As your therapist, Jomani will provide quality treatment grounded in evidence-based approaches and cultural competence insights. This will enable you to focus on your aims, reduce or eliminate unpleasant symptoms, and improve your emotional regulation. Moreover, she utilizes her competence and executive counseling abilities to assist clients in increasing their internal and external resources for restoration, relaxation, and pleasure.
