Jihan Sims is a psychotherapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who holds a MSW in Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work with a concentration on clinically focused treatment, and a BA in communications with a concentration in Organizational Communication from San Francisco State University. Originally from Los Angeles California, Jihan has worked in a wide range of clinical settings, such as agencies serving homeless individuals and rehabilitation programs, psychiatric hospital, emergency room, in home therapy and private practice.
Jihan is a culturally competent therapist who works collaboratively with individuals, specializing in Grief (complex and persistent), CBT, relationship issues, codependency, life and role transitions, stress management, anxiety, self-esteem, depression, coming of age and aging issues.
Jihan believes that each person brings a multi-faceted expression of their true selves to therapy that can be unlocked with trust, kindness, and the acknowledgment of one's right to self-determination and self-efficacy. Jihan seeks to partner with people to build a strong therapeutic relationship, working together to break cyclical patterns & find healing.
