Welcome! I'm an LPC-Associate under the supervision of Maria Spellings, Ph.D., LPC-Supervisor. I've worked in a variety of settings which include a community-based clinic, domestic violence agency, behavioral health and substance abuse facility, and private practice. My areas of focus include trauma, attachment, relationships, racial and ethnic identity, self-esteem, self-compassion, and I'm a certified dancing mindfulness facilitator. I see adult individuals and couples virtually and in person. Before counseling, I was a public-school educator. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, music, dancing, and remixing dessert recipes.
I use a Cognitive Behavioral approach when counseling. Cognitive Behavioral therapists explore how our thoughts influence our emotions and behaviors. I also help clients explore how they are presently impacted by previous, early relationships. I mostly use talk therapy but I am no stranger to incorporating expressive arts.
I work to create a safe space and build a strong relationship with my clients. I enjoy collaborating with each client to identify counseling goals and create an individualized treatment plan. I value the unique perspective of each client and firmly believe in the innate human capacity for growth and change.
