Welcome to The Lamp Counseling Center. We strive to create a caring environment where you feel safe, seen, and heard during your journey of healing and personal growth. We will collaboratively engage in a variety of traditional and non-traditional approaches including culturally affirming Cognitive Therapy (CBT), Expressive Therapies and Trauma-Informed Mindfulness. I am dedicated to being a light unto your path through long-term or short-term care, to provide the support needed through a holistic approach in working towards identifying/acknowledging/processing/accepting your experiences, emotions, and personal goals.
I have over 15 years in the mental/behavioral health field including degrees in Psychology and Professional Counseling. I am a wife, mother of 3, and manage a nonprofit organization to assist the needs of the community including individuals and families. My desire is to support you on your journey as you process your experiences, thoughts, and feelings. "It's okay to FEEL, it's how you manage your feelings that matter"
I am Virginia and Florida Licensed Therapist, as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor along with serving as a member of various professional associations including: American Counseling Association (ACA), American Mental Health Association (AMHC), Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (AMCD), International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (IAMFC), Association for Creativity and Counseling (ACC), National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Virginia Counselors Association and Virginia's Division for Spiritual, Religious, and Ethical Values in Counseling (VA-ASERVIC).
