Jennifer Dorsey is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in New York and is the owner of The Therapist Next Door Mental Health Counseling, PLLC. She earned her M.A. in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in adolescents and children at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, DC Campus. She has worked with children, adolescents and their families for over ten years and has extensive experience working with men and women trying to overcome anxiety, depression, mood disorders and relational difficulties.
Jennifer believes psychotherapy should be client centered and integrates theory with practice as she strives to create treatment plans that are person-centered. In addition to working directly with women, children and adolescents, Jennifer is also a trained Parent Trainer. She uses her therapeutic skills to effectively guide parents and help strengthen their relationship(s) with their children.
Jennifer is a passionate public servant and has dedicated her life to ensuring a healthy and stable quality of life in all of her clients. She is fluent is English and Haitian Creole.
