Description

Jenelle Thomas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), who completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology at University of Michigan and a graduate degree in Social work at University of Illinois.  Jenelle has 10 years of experience providing trauma-informed care to adolescents, adults, and families.

Jenelle believes the client is the master of his/her life.  However, when there is a gap in the client’s level of happiness, it is time for change. Jenelle believes collaborative work in the therapeutic relationship facilitates a positive change towards a solution.

Trauma can cause feelings of stress, anxiety, and sadness after the incident. Jenelle is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is a therapeutic treatment that assists clients in working through their trauma(s).

Jenelle’s areas of specialty include adolescents, young adults, attachment, anxiety and depressive symptoms, conflict resolution, anger management, stress, self-esteem, identity, coping skills, grief & loss, trauma, stress, relationships, life transitions, and women’s issues. Jenelle’s approach incorporates techniques from evidence-based practices such as EMDR, CBT, DBT, ARC, and Mindfulness.

Prior to working in this field, Jenelle was a Licensed Cosmetologist. She still enjoys hair shows and learning new techniques. Jenelle enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters as she is learning the ropes to motherhood.
