Multicultural identity and relationships, stress/pressure related to higher education/career as experienced by minority women, depression, anxiety, immigrant and other cultural experiences and trauma are my specialty. We'll replace negative thoughts, reframe negative interpretations and implement positive behavioral skills to create and maintain positive mood, healthy relationships. We can also improve ability to identify triggers, understand how the past affects and informs the present, improve ability to regulate, self-esteem, assertiveness and uncover family patterns/trauma that impact you and implement new behavior patterns.
I use techniques like CBT/DBT, Humanistic Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, activity scheduling, and mood tracking. My clients build self-confidence, develop autonomy, communicate effectively, develop emotional resilience, repair irrational thinking, increase interpersonal effectiveness and stop repeating frustrating patterns. I take decolonizing mental health and my role as a social justice advocate seriously. You'll learn new coping skills and se marked decrease in symptoms through my use of theoretical approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, mindfulness, positive psychology techniques, and narrative therapy to conceptualize, diagnose, treatment plan and intervene.
