I understand that coming to therapy can be challenging and scary, so I work to provide a safe and welcoming environment that allows my clients the space to openly express themselves.I have an extensive amount of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and adults in a variety of settings that include hospitals, schools and residential settings. I’ve worked with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, autism, grief/loss, PTSD, alcohol/substance abuse and, severe MI that include (schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder/bipolar disorder). Some other areas of interests I have include life transitions and peer relationships.
I believe it is important to approach each client on an individual basis in order to meet the client where they are. I enjoy using a client-centered approach in my work as this approach allows the client to have a sense of autonomy in their treatment and it allows the client and the therapist to work together to accomplish desired goals. I use evidence-based techniques in my work which include a variety of modalities including psychoeducation, CBT, mindfulness techniques, and solution-focused therapy.
Therapy with me begins with a phone consultation where we’ll explore your anticipated goals and intentions for treatment. We will also discuss scheduling an initial session. During the initial session we will discuss your goals for treatment as broad or as specific as you prefer.
