Description
Welcome,
I’m Imani Carter, LCPC, NCC, founder of Therapy with Imani Lee, LLC. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland and a National Certified Counselor. I’m glad you’re here—because choosing to prioritize your mental health is a powerful and intentional step.
At Therapy with Imani Lee, LLC, the focus is on providing a supportive, affirming, and culturally responsive space where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. I believe therapy should feel collaborative, empowering, and grounded in real-life experiences—not rushed or judgmental. My approach centers on helping clients recognize their strengths, build emotional insight, and develop practical tools to support long-term growth and healing.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. I am also a professional member of the American Counseling Association.
I have clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, and I tailor treatment to meet each client’s unique needs, goals, and lived experiences. I am especially intentional about providing care that honors cultural identity, community context, and the ways systemic stressors impact mental health—particularly for individuals who have spent much of their lives being strong for others.
I commonly support clients navigating:
Anxiety and chronic stress
Depression and emotional burnout
Low self-esteem and confidence concerns
Life transitions and adjustment challenges
Relationship and boundary-setting difficulties
At Therapy with Imani Lee, LLC, therapy is not about “fixing” you—it’s about helping you reconnect with yourself, reclaim your voice, and move forward with clarity and intention. You don’t have to do this alone, and support is available when you’re ready.
