A graduate of the University of Southern California (USC), I became involved in trauma and play therapy while at UCLA's Department of Pediatrics. Transitioning to private practice in 2003, I continue to work with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder as an EMDR Certified Therapist. I serve adults, children and adolescents with Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Eating Disorders, and ADD/ADHD, as well as individuals and families with grief and loss, stage of life/adjustment, behavioral, attachment, domestic violence and abuse issues.
I utilize research-based treatments to ensure clients achieve their optimal wellbeing. I view clients' experiences from their perspective to facilitate exploration and discovery of new understandings that help them achieve their goals. My emotional and cognitive approach include EMDR, Mindfulness, Brainspotting, and spirituality to promote personal growth and healthy relationships.
I served on the Board of Directors of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) for 5 years and was President in 2017 and 2018. I'm a CIT providing consultation to licensed therapists seeking Certification in EMDR therapy. I'm also a member of the Association for Play Therapy and on the Board of Councilors at USC's Suzanne Dwork-Peck School of Social Work. I've been a guest speaker on issues of trauma and abuse, child development, cross-cultural and transracial adoption, behavior modification and parenting strategies.
