Licensed Psychotherapist serving the state of Alabama.

Feel stuck? Overwhelmed? Feeling down in general? Something is off or just not right? Maybe you’re attempting to avoid or deal with our emotions, trauma, and/or relationships. If you're stuck on how to do that, individual therapy may help. As your therapist, please know that our sessions together are about you and what you're going through. Your session time is your space, and everything we discuss is strictly confidential! Regardless of how you enter and what you enter the room with, we will process your challenges and therapeutic goals at your pace. This may require working through childhood or adult trauma, unmet expectations, boundaries (or lack thereof), work & life challenges, racial stress and identity, intimate relationships, and other painful situations. As an EMDR and trauma-informed therapist, I am here to support you as you do the work toward advancement, healing and wellness. Sessions can be virtual or in-person.

If you're just not sure what's going on, just don't feel right, experiencing irritability and sadness, but unsure why, feel free to reach out with questions. I am happy to answer questions you may have & partner with you along your journey.

New to therapy or not sure what to expect? Just know that developing our non-judgmental, therapeutic relationship starts at your first session. At your initial session, we will begin by discussing what issues bring you to therapy and the goals you want to achieve. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma or relationship issues, we will work together to develop your treatment plan and frequency of sessions. Most clients start with weekly or bi-weekly sessions. Sessions may be adjusted as needed, and treatment plans are reviewed regularly.

I also love working with couples in all stages of marriage - dating, dating with intention/pre-posal, premarital, marriage counseling or marriage enrichment. I have supported couples in marital preparation, crisis, and recovery for over 20 years. Marriage is not for everyone, and I am happy to work with you and your partner to address goals, pitfalls, roadblocks & opportunities en route to a fruitful marriage...or not. Couples receive tools to improve communication and get a better understanding of each other's perspective.

Marriage is hard. It takes hard work. It may seem that only one person is doing the work. Other times, betrayal and infidelity have occurred. Couples can grow apart, get off to a rough start, or have questions about how to move forward. Seeking couples or marriage counseling is an excellent way to get those questions answered in a personal, private environment. Couples counseling provides evidence based treatment, tools and skills for healthy relationship development. We also discuss behaviors and societal norms that are unhelpful.

Congratulations on taking this step in seeking support. When you are ready to begin building your personal toolkit, feel free to reach out and schedule your time on the sofa.
