Description

How far have you pushed yourself before you noticed you were preparing to hit a standstill and require help? Had a new baby, job, spouse, or transitional life event? Many clients have expressed anxious tendencies when it appears that they were ready to grow in some capacity. Have you been experiencing an increased fear regarding anything? Feeling stuck? That build-up can be the pressure one needs to speak to a therapist. Sometimes life is super busy with all the demands people tackle each day, and non-judgmental spaces to explore thoughts and emotions can often lead to clarity. I am happy to provide that assistance and various methods.

I commend you for seeking help. It takes a courageous person to admit that there's something they can use an extra lens to see. I am not your typical therapist. I am very non-traditional and edgy. I am formally trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through Beck Institute, and I am EMDR trained. I’ve found much excitement in adding Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) to my work with clients. This experience invites clients to focus on their bodies and report their experiences. I've been counseling since 2017 with a focus on drugs and alcohol. In May 2021, I received an upgraded license from an LPC-Associate to an LPC following 3,000 hours of practice.

I hold a wealth of experience that has been consistent in the human services field working with the populations I currently service in counseling. I am currently accepting clients ages 16 and older.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas while holding other credentials in other areas in the State of Texas. I was a Family-Based Safety Service Specialist III with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services working to preserve families and children. My past experiences align with the industry and population I continue working with throughout other roles and skills. I bring a multicultural view to the field of counseling. I work to deconstruct systems and add in personal values. In tough-to-reach places it can feel like people have exhausted their internal resources and emotional capacity and haven't been "Heard." I create non-biased spaces for them to navigate. I regard persons for who they are and what they contribute with empathy and formal training skills and necessary modalities. I apply culturally appropriate skills.

My passion developed throughout my life while offering the same genuine level of empathy, problem-solving, and solution-seeking. As a person of many oppressions, I required unique skills to make it through difficult times. I hold a non-judgmental attitude and open space for my clients to explore their truths. I offer myself as a passenger and see clients as the drivers of their lives as I ride along in the passenger seat navigating, with my clients until they arrive at the endless possibilities on the other side of fear. Many opportunities are behind our smiles, behaviors, and accomplishments, or lack thereof. I work with clients using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

I've worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, self-harm pasts, self-esteem issues, relationship concerns, pornography use, mood complaints, occupational stressors, single-parenting stressors, life transitions, and lifestyle transitions.
