My focus when working with clients is on placement stabilization, trauma healing, relationship building, emotional and social skill building to support overall improved functioning; and equipping parents and caretakers with support, tools and skills to manage their children's needs. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused and Supportive Therapy techniques to assist with improving my client’s awareness of their need for change, to explore barriers preventing them from making desired change, and to equip them with the skills needed to make and maintain their progress towards change. My clients often feel like they have no control over the things happening in their life. I believe that all of my clients are resilient and I work to empower them to recognize their strengths and the influence their decision making has on their ability to better cope with challenging situations.
