Description

Have you ever felt like you must be perfect all the time, and that any mistake could ruin your chances of success? If so, you are not alone. Many people struggle with the pressure of high expectations and low self-esteem. That’s why I’m here to help you. I’m Dr. Wingfield, and I offer Soulful Balance Therapy, a holistic and culturally responsive approach to mental health and wellness. My goal is to help you overcome your challenges, achieve your goals, and live a balanced and fulfilling life.
I was brought up to believe that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. It was no surprise that the field I chose also believes in dignity and respect. As a social worker and a therapist, I have dedicated my career to helping others navigate life’s difficulties and opportunities. I have worked with diverse populations and settings, and I have learned from each experience.
As a Black woman, who came from humble beginnings, I understand the pressure to feel like you cannot make a mistake, and everything needs to be perfect. However, the reality is no one is perfect, and we all make mistakes in life. What matters most is what we do once we learn from those mistakes. That’s why I practice with a sense of cultural humility and compassion. I collaborate with you to identify the issue or challenge and not label you, thus destigmatizing seeking help.
My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and dialectical therapy. However, I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan based on your needs. I practice with a sense of cultural humility that positions you as the expert in your life, and my role is to help you build on the strengths that you already possess to address the challenges you face. At Soulful Balance Therapy, you will regain the ability to trust yourself and rely on your inner wisdom to promote change.
It takes courage to seek help, and I am here to support you. I look forward to building a strong therapeutic relationship with you. If you are ready to take the first step towards a more balanced and fulfilling life, please contact me today for a free consultation. As Maya Angelou said, “Nothing will work unless you do.” Let’s work together to make your life work for you.
