I am passionate about helping Black women across age, sexual orientation, and identities, and class be emotionally, physically, and spiritually well. I enthusiastically join clients on wellness journeys to heal, grow, and learn the tools and strategies needed to thrive in their personal and professional lives and relationships.
For over 15 years, I have specialized in helping Black women from all walks of life heal from emotional, physical, sexual, and childhood trauma; navigate couple and family conflict; manage anxiety, depression, and anger; increase self-esteem, value, and worth; improve communication and social skills; and heal and cope with racial trauma, and religious trauma. I also have expertise in helping clients grieve loss and learning healthy coping strategies for addiction to drugs, alcohol, food, sex, and other repetitive and obsessive behaviors. I also create space for exploring challenges and concerns related to faith, career, and professional development.
My counseling style is engaging, relational, caring, compassionate, and collaborative. I offer assurance, hope, and encouragement to help clients overcome any obstacles to being healed, authentic and whole. I meet clients where they are at their season of life while drawing on a variety of counseling theories and approaches to validate client’s strengths and internal and external resources to live a purposed, peaceful, and joyous life on their own terms
I offer remote and in-person counseling that honors client’s unique identity, world views, cultural values, and beliefs. I take Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, United Health Care, Cigna, and Magellan. I also take out-of-network, and I offer some sliding scale sessions.
