Her core focus is to assist individuals who find it difficult to cope with major life transitions. Life transitions can be environmental, physical, mental, expected, unexpected, controlled, or uncontrolled. Transitions can appear in the following ways: the birth of a child, loss of a job, new job, relocation, termination of a relationship, death of a loved one, physical body changes, mental/physical health diagnosis, aging, starting college, empty nest, etc. Regardless of the source or type, transitions can be difficult to manage and often lead to depression, anxiety, fear, adjustment disorders, low sense of self-worth, and stress. However, Dr. Butler is an expert in uncovering the adaptive feelings and emotions that can evolve from life transitions.

Dr. Butler believes that there is beauty in change and transitions and with the right therapeutic journey she believes all people have the ability to master the transitions of life.
