Black women for generations have experienced things in our lives that have been designed to destroy us. However, because of unsurmountable strength, we learn to endure. But at what costs? It has cost us our self-esteem, sense of worth, our intimate relationships, our family, and tainted how we view the world around us! We have been conditioned to be strong all the time, but life’s circumstances can leave even a warrior a little weary. When this feeling of overwhelm goes untreated, it can turn into depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and other chronic mental health issues.
Imagine the experiences of our children when we attempt to parent through these conditions. The stress that we hold impacts them through our parenting techniques.
My mission in life is to restore Black women to who we are destined to be-STRONG physically, socially, mentally, and spiritually, so that we can leverage the power within us. That is where therapy comes in. Therapy at Hayes Medical Integration is a wonderful tool that will provide you the safe and accepting space to pull down those layers of protective walls that prevent you from living life the way you deserve. I ensure during sessions that you feel heard, validated, and supported no matter what you are experiencing and how you need to express it!
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist with 23 years of experience and specialize in workplace stress, difficulty with life transitions, and trauma recovery (including grief and loss, childhood distress, military trauma, couple/marital issues, and perinatal mood and anxiety issues). I also treat depression and anxiety. Services are provided to teens, young adults, and older adults.
