Dr. Shari Férère, of Thriving Mind Psychology, is a licensed clinical psychologist who has extensive experience providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and their families. She has provided psychotherapy and conducted psychological evaluations for individuals in a variety of clinical settings including: community mental health, intensive hospital outpatient, private practice, inpatient state hospital, and day treatment settings. Dr. Férère has experience working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. She values cultural awareness and takes a client-centered approach in developing rapport and treating all of her clients. Dr. Férère has a great respect for research in the mental health field and ensures that her approaches are supported by research through the application of evidence-based therapeutic models. She specializes in treating anxiety, depression, and interpersonal functioning in order to assist her clients in working towards their optimal self.
Dr. Férère enjoys working with individuals of all ages. Because she knows that no single therapeutic technique is the right one for every individual, she incorporates an integrative approach to her therapeutic work that can be best described as interpersonally based with cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and acceptance and commitment (ACT) interventions intermixed. Dr. Férère truly values meeting her clients where they are at in their healing process while being patient in promoting change and growth.
