Description
Deciding to take the first step to seek professional help for mental health can be terrifying. Every client that steps into my doors has been brave enough to make that decision and when looking back, they all believed it was one of the best decisions they made. I offer an empathic, safe, and authentic therapeutic space for all clients to understand themselves and the challenges they face.
My clinical approach is collaborative, and informed by both psychodynamic and relational theories. As a therapist with several marginalized identities and extensive clinical training in multicultural theories, I am deeply rooted in creating safe spaces for diverse people to heal.
I often work with older adolescents and young adults around various concerns including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, family issues, relational issues, grief, and trauma. Within these dynamics, I have a particular focus on working with college students, student-athletes, people of color, LGBTQ, and people from a variety of socioeconomic and religious backgrounds.
My educational career began at Northern Illinois University where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. During my undergraduate career, I played four consecutive years on the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball team. This unique experience propelled me into seeking a graduate career in psychology to better understand the connection between athletics, mental health, and marginalized identities.
After completing my undergraduate degree, I immediately began my graduate education at Loyola University of Chicago and received my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. From there, I began working on my doctoral degree at the University of Denver and graduated with my PhD in Counseling Psychology. As part of my degree, I completed my Doctoral Internship at Pace University’s Counseling Center in NYC.
I am pleased to announce that I am currently accepting new clients. I return every phone call or email message I receive so please do not hesitate to reach out to me to schedule a phone consult. I look forward to hearing from you.
