I am Dr. Raquel Guidry-Davis, LICSW , an independently licensed clinical social worker and Certified PREPARE/ENRICH Facilitator, with over 20 years of experience professionally listening and encouraging people to peace and wholeness. I completed my Bachelors in Psychology at the University of Houston and my Masters of Social Work at the University of Houston Graduate School of Social Work. My doctorate in Community Care and Counseling, with a specialization in Marriage and Family, was completed at Liberty University. In addition to individual therapy, my experience includes couples, premarital counseling, veterans, inpatient mental health treatment, group therapy, and clinical case management. I also have experience in multicultural counseling and providing faith-based counseling, assisting individuals in integrating clinical interventions with spiritual and religious beliefs.
As a Counselor, I would describe my approach as client centered, supportive, goal oriented, and warm. I work from a Strengths perspective and use Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies. I believe that "peace is purposeful" and must be pursued and protected once found. I will use a variety of techniques, invite you to establish goals, and explore how your thought patterns and behaviors are working to meet those goals.
