Coming to therapy is a courageous step! And I want to honor your courage. I believe that how we work together is an important part of your journey. So I work to create a warm, emotionally safe environment for you to share. Our relationship is used as the catalyst for your growth. I can appreciate the need to talk to someone with a similar background about difficulties that you are facing, and I will work with you to address racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity; living as a Black person in Washington; acculturation; immigration concerns; being a "third culture kid;" or dealing with microaggressions. Furthermore if you want to incorporate your faith, I am trained to incorporate and discuss spirituality and religion. Conversely, I also make space to discuss trauma and pain experienced within a religious setting. I work from an Interpersonal Psychotherapy theoretical orientation. And, I am trained in both short-term and long-term treatment approaches. Some of the common concerns that I have treated include depression, anxiety, work stress, relationship concerns, attachment issues, grief, vicarious trauma, trauma, disordered eating and body image. Some populations that I work with include helping professionals, such as medical and mental health providers.

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not accept insurance. However, I can give you a "superbill" so that you can attempt to receive partial reimbursement from your insurance provider. Please ask about this option early on if it interests you.
