Description

I support adults facing anxiety, depression, disturbing memories, grief, and trauma. I focus on helping adults, specifically marginalized individuals, to navigate through their life story to identify thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that no longer serve them. I assist clients who want to change these negative beliefs into beliefs that are more valid and useful. Examples include: “I should have done something” to “I did the best I could” or “I am not enough” to “I am okay as I am” or “I cannot trust anyone” to “I can choose whom to trust".

Therapy with me is very interactive, I provide feedback & questions to help facilitate growth. I root my therapy practices in anti-oppression and offer a safe therapy space for clients to come as they are. Societal structures can lead marginalized people to dim our authentic selves; in session with me, there’s no need to hold back, self-censor, or explain— my role is to work with who you are and your experiences. I do this by inviting awareness and conversation of racial, gender, and sexual identity and the impacts of institutional racism and discrimination into the therapy room. I also encourage clients to connect with safe spaces and communities outside the therapy room with the belief that “choosing our people is the closest we come to controlling our destiny“.

I support clients to understand why certain behavior patterns exists and how certain trauma from our ancestors still reflect themselves in us today, and how to heal some of these inter-generational issues. Together my clients and I work towards ancestral healing through non-verbal clinical methods such as mindfulness, guided breathing, yoga, meditation, reiki, and trauma informed yoga-based therapy.

It's important that you feel comfortable with your therapist. If any of the above resonates with you please feel free to contact me. I am happy to discuss how we might work together. I would be honored to support you on your healing journey.
