Description
I am a therapist and Black woman and someone who has been in your shoes as a client. We all deserve to feel calm, clear and whole and doing so with professional help can be even more powerful. Tending to your pain and learning healthy ways of managing it takes courage as it is one of the most transformative decisions you can make.
Pain is often a sign that certain aspects of our inner life need our attention. I am passionate about helping my clients get to the root of their challenges while also reclaiming their unique strengths which help them overcome the legacy of their pain. This pain may be generational, ancestral, self-inflicted or due to a series of upsetting events in your life. Successfully helping clients get to the root of their challenges and uncovering blockages they never knew existed in a compassionate manner is something my clients often comment on. As my client, you can expect a compassionate, soul centered and culturally sensitive approach.
After earning my BA in Psychology from San Francisco State University, I earned my MA in Counseling from Washington State University. Subsequently, I received my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Couple and Family Therapy from the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. Clinical training includes a number of trauma-informed and somatic based approaches including DBT, EMDR, spirituality and breath work. I am also a master certified life coach.
