Description

Dr. Walker, a native Detroiter, created Quilted Rose Clinical Services, PLLC out of a need for highly skilled Black clinicians expressly trained in social justice and trauma-focused treatment modalities. Dr. Walker works with all Black (BIPOC) people (LGBTQIA affirming). She works collaboratively to facilitate growth in individuals struggling with complex trauma, severe stress, depression, anxiety, major life transitions (divorce, recovering from the "sunken place," going away to college, empty nesters...) and stopping the cycle of unhealthy relationships all while maintaining within a society which thrives on systemic oppression.

Dr. Walker is a trauma and recovery specialist (trained in TF-CBT, BrainSpotting and EMDR). She is a trained LLPC supervisor and a consultant to organizations providing trauma-informed care and cultural responsibility trainings.
“Our communities deserve to be served by healthy professionals… WE deserve to be healthy because it is our natural state.”

Dr. Walker specifically targets working with Black (BIPOC) people as we are the most likely to continue working after we exhibit the signs of burn-out. Where we are conversely, the least likely to seek personal mental health services. Dr. Walker provides a compassionate space for individuals to process and strengthen their resolve.

Finally, regardless of your stage of healing, please read both "All About Love" by bell hooks and "My Grandmother's Hands" by Resmaa Menakem. Both books are available via the Black owned book seller of The Source Bookstore located in Detroit, MI.
