Hi, I am the owner of Healing Spaces, and I founded Healing Spaces to be a safe space for healing, especially for Black and Brown individuals and members of other marginalized communities. Here, you are safe, valued, and you matter!

I am a clinical psychologist, which means I specialize in dysfunction! You may have found me because you realize that you are struggling way more than those around you. Your feelings of sadness and overwhelm are beyond average, and your learning difficulties are getting in the way of you being successful. You may be asking yourself questions like:
“Am I clinically depressed?”
“Does my kid have ADHD or a learning disability?”
Or simply, “What is going on with me?”

Here’s where I come in: through formal and comprehensive assessment and testing, I help individuals better understand their strengths and areas of concern. These psychological and/or psychoeducational assessments can help you or your child better understand what is going on, receive a formal diagnosis, and/or give suggestions for academic, treatment, and home recommendations (aka, what you do about it).

Now, if are looking for a genuine, inclusive, and collaborative therapist to help you accomplish your individual goals, then I may be a good fit for you! I typically focus on:

1. Trauma and understanding how traumatic events can continue to impact you day to day and overwhelm your body and brain. And, I want to help you learn to manage these experiences, cope with past hurt and disappointment, attack those negative beliefs you have about yourself and others, and feel hopeful for the future!

2. How anxiety lies to you! No seriously, sometimes our thoughts can be so overwhelming and negative. Together, we can work to challenge those thoughts (you are good enough!) and to feel less panicky!

3. Helping parents and caregivers learn new and effective ways to help manage those emotional outbursts and temper tantrums, strengthen your relationship, and better help them follow directions.

A little about my clinical background: I received a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at Loyola University Maryland in 2016. I have been trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), a developmentally sensitive, neurobiologically informed approach to working with children with complex trauma histories.

Due to PSYPACT legislation, I can conduct telehealth sessions with you in multiple states (so you do not have to be in Missouri to work with me)! You do, however, have to be physically located in one of these states: AL, AZ, CO, DE, DC, GA, IL, KS, KY, MD, MN, MO, NE, NV, NH, NC, OH, OK, PA, TN, TX, UT, and VA.
