I am a licensed psychologist who works primarily with adults. I specialize in working with members of historically excluded/marginalized groups; especially women of color. Common concerns that my clients present with include: anxiety, depression, family or romantic relationship issues, major life changes, racial or sexual/gender identity concerns, grief/loss, & everyday stress.
I view therapy as a collaborative, goal-oriented process in which I support clients in making meaningful changes in their lives. I believe that the relationship between myself & my client(s) is central to effective therapy. The work of therapy involves developing coping skills as well as deepening clients’ understanding of their relationship to themselves and others. I strive to create a supportive yet challenging environment that aims to foster clients’ empowerment and build on their existing strengths and resilience. I do this by using an Interpersonal, Existential, Multicultural approach that emphasizes context, identity, meaning-making, and the therapeutic relationship as central to the change process.
To help you make an informed decision, I offer new clients a free 30-minute initial consultation by phone. Currently I am only accepting teletherapy clients. I do not contract with insurance companies but provide all necessary documentation for clients to submit for reimbursement.
