Everyone needs someone and deserves to be supported. No one should feel alone in their journey of life, especially when faced with challenges. I have dedicated my career to being a source of support to others by using an authentic, collaborative and integrated approach while being sensitive to diversity and culture. In addition to talk therapy, I offer creative and alternative ways to explore core issues, such as mindfulness and meditation interventions that you’ll be able to apply outside of the therapy room. I strive to provide a safe and non-judgmental space to support you in achieving a more holistic quality of life. My interest in psychology began during my pre-adolescent years as I often found myself pondering “the why” of human behavior. Therefore, I pursued my undergraduate education from the Black Women’s institution, Bennett College in North Carolina and obtained a Masters and Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Adler University. I have worked with individuals across the lifespan ranging from adolescents to families and seasoned adults in a number of settings including community mental health, psychiatric hospitals, nursing homes, foster and adoptive care agencies, and correctional settings. My clinical experience includes working with trauma, substance use, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, codependency, and more.
A native of the Midwest, former East Coaster, and current resident of the South, I enjoy listening to audiobooks, traveling, cooking, spending time with friends and family, and the outdoors.
I am an advocate of Black women tapping into our authenticity and living holistically. We must be accountable and acknowledge that self-care is not a luxury, but a necessity for us to live fulfilling and meaningful lives!
