I have over a decade of clinical experience. Prior to obtaining my doctorate degree, I worked as a school psychologist within the California public school system for 5 years. I have also worked with clients in various settings such as the community mental health, psychiatric hospitals, veterans affairs, and academic health centers.
As a clinician, I believe in developing a collaborative relationship with each client that I serve, respecting their view as expert of their own life, while utilizing evidenced-based approaches to therapy to help them along their journey. I am passionate about assisting my clients in recovering from psychological issues, enhancing their strengths, and becoming empowered to live a more meaningful life.
I currently work with both adolescents and adults (age 14+) with a variety of presenting concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma (e.g., sexual, physical, emotional, religious), minority stress (discrimination/racism), negative self-image, women’s issues, and relationship concerns. I have a special interest in working with individuals from diverse communities including ethnic/religious groups, sexual orientation/gender identity, and disabilities. I also hold interest in helping parents navigate the school system, including those seeking 504 accommodations or special education services for their child.
