Description

I am a multiculturally focused licensed psychologist and the founder of Rejuvenate! In therapy, I help you balance the task to be you and become the new you. I specialize in group treatment for people of color who want to heal, learn new skills, and build a life of wellness. In individual therapy, I work with people who:
- “just need a person/professional to talk to”
- Seek help with mild mental health symptoms
- Struggle with emotion dysregulation and/or want to find a reason to stay alive. → these individuals usually benefit from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

I am the 1st Black DBT-Linehan Board Certified therapist in the state of Texas (and I practice in 40+ states), and I conduct DBT training through the Treatment Implementation Collaborative (TIC). I have over 10 years of experience working in a variety of mental health settings (e.g. university counseling, partial hospitalization program, EAP, etc.), and I am trained to treat anger management, depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationships, grief, race-based trauma, etc.

My formal education includes a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Georgia, two Master’s degrees in Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Spelman College. I completed an APA Accredited predoctoral internship at the Travis County Juvenile Probation Department, where I currently serve as the Racial and Social Justice Officer. Subsequently, I instruct diversity didactics and seminars for the APA Accredited Predoctoral interns, supervise employees, and conduct culturally specific group treatment with youth. I also offer diversity training, workshops, consultation, and retreats.

I am a California girl at heart, however I have lots of love for the other places I have lived - Georgia, Pennsylvania, Spain, Honduras, and my current home, Texas. Outside of psychology and social justice, I love God, traveling, swimming, food, and spending time with family and friends.

DBT GROUP
Do you struggle with controlling your emotions? Do you want to learn mindfulness, coping techniques, and skills to help your relationships? Join our DBT group!

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills groups is a weekly group, which teaches coping skills across four topics: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Groups are structured like a class. All groups start with mindfulness and homework review. The group leader teaches a new skill each week; with Rejuvenate, the skills lesson is interactive and engaging. Group participants are assigned homework that encourages them to practice the skills taught during group session.
