“As the author of your life, you owe yourself a bona fide narrative.”
-Dr. Denise M. Walker
In the construction of that narrative doubt has the tendency to arise causing questioning of thoughts, desires, and beliefs. I believe that humans strive for and thrive in connected and supportive environments. I believe that we are social beings possessing various identities that must be recognized within context and on a continuum of wellness. I believe that all behavior is purposefully motivated to achieve a goal. I also believe that that through goal-directed exploration and active involvement, one can acquire alternative perspectives better suited to achieve a fitting and fulfilled life. Whether internal or external, a nurturing environment has the potential to promote evolution. This is what one can expect in a therapeutic relationship with Dr. Walker.
The only constant in life is change and as long as you live this life, you can expect just that; continuous change. When unexpected change occurs, it can create a sense of instability, doubt, questioning, discomfort, and fear. Not knowing what to do with the uncertainty can take a toll on your mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. If any of this resonates with you, then it may be time to invite an objective someone in to hear your experiences and join in the journey of reorganizing your self-discovery. It would be an honor to join and work with you.
