Dr. Carissma Hughes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor (LCSW-S) in the state of Texas. She is the owner and Director of Clinical Services at Obsidian Counseling Services, PLLC. She is also a Certified Depression & Mood Disorder Treatment Professional, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 2 (CCTP-II) and has experience working with LGBTQ identified persons, Military Veterans, elderly, hospice patients and family, couples, and children/Adolescents. Dr. Hughes takes a person-centered approach and reminds each client that they are the experts on their own lives.
Dr. Hughes also specializes in anxiety, depression, ADHD, and complex trauma.
Dr. Carissma Hughes earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Bowling Green State University; a Masters in Social work from Texas State University; a Masters in Non-profit Management from Johnson & Wales University, and a Doctorate in Social work with a specialization in family studies from Walden University.
Dr. Hughes is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. since 2012. She was initiated through the Epsilon Omicron Chapter at Bowling Green State University and remains a proud member of Delta. She is a NYC native with family from the beautiful island of Antigua.
