Description
Dr. Brittany is a licensed clinical social worker certified in addictions. Dr. Brittan has helped many individuals with depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. She utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, empowerment-based, and strength-based techniques. Dr. Brittany received her BSW and MSW for Florida State University and her Doctor of Social work degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
Dr. Brittany believes it is imperative for individuals to develop and have a knowledge of self, their emotions, and thoughts. She offers short-term and long-term therapies based on an individual’s need.
Continuing her belief in civic engagement, Dr. Brittany works on many boards and committees at a local and state level, focusing on substance misuse, child welfare, and community mental health. Dr. Brittany is the current President of the Board for the National Alliance on Mental Illness Pinellas, Chair of the Health & Wellness Committee with the Pinellas County Urban League Young Professionals, the Co-chair of the Tampa Bay Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the Behavioral Health Interest Chair for NASW Statewide, and is trained as part of the Statewide Crisis Intervention Rapid Response Team. Dr. Brittany is a native Floridian, born and raised in Tallahassee, FL, and a proud dog mom of one miniature schnauzer named Herschel.
