I graduated from the University of Denver with my graduate degree in social work (MSW) and completed my undergraduate degree (BSW) at Oakwood University. I also completed post-graduate studies in Marriage and Family Therapy and completed my doctorate in social psychology at Walden University. I have experience working in a variety of settings that have included long term care, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and residential treatment centers working with clients from all walks of life. I am currently working as a therapist and a Social Work professor where I serve as a doctoral mentor to students completing their dissertation in addition to teaching several clinical classes to graduate students. My areas of special practice include couples therapy, assessment, mental health and working with minority populations. I am passionate about being a lifelong learner and empowering individuals to develop and maintain healthy interpersonal relationships. In my spare time, I enjoy international travel and blogging about my experiences. My reviews of attractions and restaurants throughout the world have been read by over 50,000 readers.
