Description
Please note that I do not work with any Managed Care Health Insurance programs. However, I am glad to provide a "super-bill" receipt.
I am a therapist who specializes in treating youth, young adults, and families experiencing maladaptive behaviors, problems with conduct, issues with self-esteem, and conflict within the family system. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a BA in psychology. I then pursued an MA in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider, and Certified Anger Management Specialist-II. Prior to entering private practice, I gained experience working with many individuals learning how to better manage or cope with depression, anxiety, and anger as well as those with a history of antisocial and sexual offending behavior.
A key component of the therapeutic relationship is the counselor’s ability to cultivate a supportive environment free from judgement. No matter what prompts us to connect, I value the diversity of each interaction I’m gifted when invited to be present and experience someone’s personal story.
While Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the primary approach used in my work, I am also trained to meet the unique needs of clients by implementing knowledge of various other therapeutic approaches and treatment modalities as necessary. My practice with youth is developmentally informed and utilizes techniques pulled from child centered protocol and training. Treatment with all of my clients is built around and guided by evidence-based interventions. I maintain an ever-growing list of resources and enjoy providing clients with the information and tools necessary to feel equipped for their world when walking out of my office.
