Very often we think there is a rule book to life and how we should live it when it actually varies from person to person. There are many things that cause stress, from daily life tasks to traumatic events. This stress can lead to anxiety, depression, and many other mental diagnoses. Navigating life can be an overwhelming task, but luckily things like therapy can make it a little easier to figure out what works for you. At Transcend Wellness we believe believe therapy is a great resource for you to develop your personal “toolbox” full of coping skills and techniques to assist you in navigating your life.
My psychotherapy treatments is based on person-centered, mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and EMDR/Trauma focused approaches. I focus on the mind/body connection, so along with traditional talk therapy, I also provide yoga, breath-work and meditation services.
I enjoy working with black women professionals and/or college students who are dedicated to breaking generational cycles within their families. This includes black women from ages 21-50 who struggle with high-functioning anxiety or depression, imposter syndrome, work/life balance, OCD, relationship/dating issues, major life transitions, self-esteem, co-dependency, grief and trauma. I also work with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds including minorities, people with disabilities and the LGBTQ community. I enjoy helping my clients create healthy boundaries in their life and develop a personal self-care routine. It is my goal to help others figure out how to live their best lives; making mental health relatable and obtainable.
