Description

Do you feel like you are doing the mental gymnastics of managing stressors related to microaggression and implicit bias? I realize how these stressors can be unique to historically marginalized identities. I am passionate about working with clients beyond coping skills and towards micro-resistance. Coping skills are great to learn for managing stressors of the environment, whereas micro-resistance focuses on advocating for a substantive change of problematic behavior. I recognize these problematic behaviors can lead to a lot of depression and anxiety we experience in our daily lives.

By creating an open, nonjudgmental safe space, I hope you will facilitate growth on your own terms.
In addition to specializing in challenges related to microaggressions and implicit bias, I work with young adults and adults living with chronic pain, anxiety, depression, life transitions, amongst other things.. I utilize a client-centered approach with a multicultural lens along with therapy approaches Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Strength-based Therapy.

In my counseling practice, I emphasize the fact that change will not happen until you accept who you are, right now, in this very moment. Through this experience, I hope we can work together to enhance your understanding of yourself.
