DeAnne McGowan is a therapist at Transition Family Services. She is a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW). She obtained her Bachelor of Arts at Oakland University in 2008. She obtained her Master of Social Work focusing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in 2011. She has experience in several settings, including: adult and child mental health in both inpatient and outpatient treatment, child welfare, developmental disabilities, and transition of care. She is dedicated to increasing awareness in her community about mental health, and advocating for increased self-care.
Ms. McGowan has several years of experience working in the area of clinical social work by providing psychotherapy to both children and adults. She specializes in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and bereavement. Her approach to treatment focuses on the overall wellness in order to promote a supreme quality life.
