Hi, my name is Deana Davis and I am a licensed Social Worker/Therapist. I own a private practice, Davis & Associates Counseling Services, located in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia, PA. I also created the Blueprint for Self-Love, which is a 6-week group that helps women get back to authentically loving themselves.
I am a graduate of Temple University with a concentration in Clinical Social Work. I have over 10 years of experience as a Social Worker working with a variety of populations within my professional experience.
When working with clients, my primary therapeutic approach is Client-Centered therapy. Client-centered therapy focuses as much on the client as possible. During the sessions I provide little authority or direction. I act as a compassionate facilitator, listening without judgment and acknowledging the client’s experience without moving the conversation in another direction.
As a Client-Centered therapist I show more concern and care than more analytical therapists. I am there to encourage you, support you and to guide the therapeutic process without interrupting your process of self-discovery. I put more time and effort into empathizing with you as my client.
I provide therapeutic interventions to identified clients in order to enhance and foster your optimal functioning and interactions in the home and community. As a therapist, I complete bio-psychological assessments for all clients. I provide individual, family and play therapy sessions to assigned clients based on weekly productivity requirements. I assess client needs, service adaptability and appropriateness for therapeutic services. Lastly, I collaborate with clients and family members to ensure all goals are developed within a Client Center approach.
