Pretending that everything is okay when it really isn't gets exhausting. Hiding your feelings from others in order maintain an illusion that you "have it all together" can cause even more profound feelings of shame and isolation.
Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. It can feel liberating to ask for help from a therapist. Sharing your story in a safe environment can be incredibly healing. I encourage you to treat yourself with the same compassion that you show others in your life.
